My name is Annie McLaughlin, and I am an avid hiker and angler and I believe that public lands define Montana. Conservation and investing back into Montana’s public lands is important because we need open space to thrive. Montana’s outdoor economy generates over $7 billion annually, employs over 71,000 people, and 81% of Montana residents participate in outdoor recreation each year.
Growing up in southwestern Montana gave me access to wild places, and through that experience I have developed a healthy lifestyle and passion for the environment around me. The protection of wild and open space provides healthy wildlife habitat, outdoor recreation, and a growing source of income for our communities.
